Over nine exhilarating days, you'll navigate through a landscape of diverse terrains, encountering both steep ascents and descents along with stretches of sandy dunes. The challenging nature of this section adds an element of adventure to the journey, testing your mettle against rugged terrains. However, the effort invested is generously repaid with panoramic coastal vistas that will leave you breathless, a kaleidoscope of wildflowers painting the landscape in vibrant hues, and the enveloping tranquility of the majestic forests. The unique blend of terrain, from undulating coastal paths to sandy stretches, ensures an immersive and varied walking experience that encapsulates the essence of the Bibbulmun Track. For optimal preparedness, we recommend engaging in one hour of vigorous exercise four times a week, such as cycling, jogging, or walking. Mix in demanding bushwalks with a day pack. Once a week, incorporate a few hours of walking with a weighted day pack (4–7kg) to enhance leg strength and aerobic fitness. To best simulate the upcoming adventure, train on uneven terrain, finding hilly, rough bush tracks, and take long walks in your trekking boots. Include multi-day walks in your training regimen and, if possible, integrate sand walking for a comprehensive preparation.
